On the other hand, sometimes the adaptation works, as was the case with Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, which succeeded even though it blended the first three books into one film and twisted the plot sequence. In my eyes, The Golden Compass was a great film, too. I enjoyed it as much as the book and I’m looking forward to the release of The Subtle Knife in theatres. I want to see it on the big screen-
